Position Summary
We are seeking a board-certified or board-eligible Ophthalmologist to join a well-established and growing practice in Greenville, North Carolina. This position offers the opportunity to provide comprehensive eye care to a diverse patient population while working in a collaborative, patient-centered environment. Subspecialty interests are welcome and may be supported based on practice needs.
Key Responsibilities- Evaluate, diagnose, and manage a wide range of ophthalmologic conditions affecting vision and eye health.
- Provide comprehensive eye care services, including routine examinations, disease management, and surgical care as credentialed.
- Perform ophthalmic procedures and surgeries consistent with training and experience.
- Educate patients and families on diagnoses, treatment options, and preventive eye care.
- Coordinate care with optometrists, primary care providers, and medical or surgical specialists.
- Maintain accurate, timely, and complete documentation in the electronic health record.
- Participate in call coverage and emergency consultations as required.
- Adhere to evidence-based clinical guidelines, regulatory requirements, and organizational policies.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives, peer review, and departmental meetings.
- Strong clinical and surgical skills in ophthalmology.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Commitment to patient-centered, high-quality care.
- Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
- Proficiency with electronic health record systems and ophthalmic technology.
- Outpatient clinic and/or hospital-based practice depending on organizational structure.
- Access to modern diagnostic equipment, surgical facilities, and experienced clinical support staff.

- Schedule, call responsibilities, and surgical block time will vary based on practice needs.
Requirements
Education and Qualifications- Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) from an accredited medical school.
- Completion of an ACGME-accredited Ophthalmology residency program.
- Board certified or board eligible in Ophthalmology.
- Current, unrestricted North Carolina medical license or eligibility for licensure.
- DEA registration or eligibility.
