We’re seeking a skilled Plumbing Designer to join a collaborative design and construction team delivering high-quality, code-compliant plumbing systems for commercial and mixed-use projects. This position works closely with project managers, engineers, and field teams to translate concepts into coordinated, build-ready plumbing designs using AutoCAD and Revit.
This role is ideal for a designer who understands how drawings turn into real installations, brings strong California code knowledge, and enjoys solving coordination challenges before they reach the field.
Key ResponsibilitiesReview architectural and MEP plans to establish coordinated plumbing design bases
Create and manage detailed plumbing layouts, including risers, isometrics, and coordinated models
Develop construction-ready drawings, schedules, and installation details for fabrication and field use
Assess routing, clearances, and constructability during design development
Prepare quantity takeoffs and material lists to support procurement and prefabrication efforts
Collaborate with project management and field teams to resolve design conflicts and incorporate field conditions
Support jobsite coordination through site walks, verifications, and design clarification as needed
Maintain current drawing sets, revisions, and design updates aligned with project progress
Ensure all designs meet California Plumbing Code requirements and internal quality standards
Contribute technical insight to support smooth transitions from design through installation
5+ years of plumbing design experience within commercial or multifamily construction environments
Strong command of California Plumbing Code and industry-standard design practices
Proficient in AutoCAD and Revit within a deadline-driven design setting
Proven ability to convert architectural concepts into coordinated, buildable plumbing systems
Comfortable communicating across design teams, project management, and field operations
Field plumbing or jobsite exposure strongly preferred
Valid California Driver’s License and willingness to visit project sites as required
