Job Description

We have an immediate need for a locum contract cardiothoracic physician assistant in Upstate New York! Work 24 hour shifts and/or 4 10s per week! Excellent Scheduling Options! This one is going to go quick!

Candidate must have extensive cardiac surgery physician assistant experience including proficiency in Endoscopic Vein Harvesting!

The role is a full continuum of care position with ample OR time, ICU, Pre and Post Operative Care.

Position Highlights

Must be BC/BE with NYS License
EPIC EMR
1:5 to 1:6 Call schedule for 24/7 in housecoverage
Endoscopic Vein and Artery Harvesting
OR first and second assisting
Some outpatient clinic responsibility
History and physical exams
Rounding on floor and ICU patients
census management
Weeknight/weekend call coverage (floor calls and emergency surgical procedures)
Inpatient consults
Bedside procedures (thoracentesis, central/arterial line placement, chest tube insertion/removal, etc.)
Supportive and congenial working environment

Minimum Qualifications

Licensed or eligible to practice in the state of New York
1 - 2+ years of Surgical and/or Cardiacexperience.
BLS certification required.
Experience required in Endoscopic Vein
Be a graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant program
NCCPA certification
