POSITION/LEVEL: Engineer I FLSA STATUS: Non-Exempt

DEPT/OFFICE: Jamestown Commercial Management Corporation DATE: August 2026

JOB SUMMARY:


The Engineer I assists with the maintenance and operation of all mechanical equipment, appliances, building-related systems, and routine general maintenance. This position works closely with other Engineers under the supervision of the Lead Engineer/Chief Engineer.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:


Education and Experience:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent; and
  • One to three years of progressively responsible related experience in a commercial property, tenant management setting; or
  • Any combination of education, training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the essential functions of the job.


ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

  • Perform scheduled maintenance and building repairs, including equipment testing, and preventative maintenance.
  • Perform unscheduled maintenance calls, including plumbing emergencies, minor equipment malfunctions, HVAC calls, electrical and lighting repairs, and minor structural repairs (ceiling, floor, door, etc).
  • Assist in the operation and maintenance of fire/ life safety systems for the property.
  • Perform regularly scheduled Preventative Maintenance tasks to ensure all building equipment is functioning properly.
  • Respond to emergency calls after hours as directed.
  • Promote and maintain safe work practices focusing on overall safety.
  • Work with tenants to understand their needs in order to build and maintain positive, productive and professional relations.

  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

  • Tools and equipment needed for building maintenance and repair.
  • General Office Equipment


KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:

Knowledge of:

  • Building and equipment maintenance/repair techniques.
  • Basic property management tools and skills.

Skill in:

  • Organizational and interpersonal skills
  • Applying building and equipment maintenance/repair technique.
  • The ability to meet deadlines, accomplish work in order of priority; professionally maintain composure & effectiveness under pressure and changing conditions
  • Self-motivation, leadership, teamwork and collaboration.
  • Conflict Management Resolution


Working Conditions:

  • Responsibilities may require an adjusted work schedule, overtime, and evening/weekend hours in order to meet deadlines.
