Job Description
We are currently seeking a dedicated and compassionate Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to provide 1:1 medical support for a student in a school setting in McDonough, GA. The nurse will be responsible for assisting a student with specialized medical needs throughout the school day to ensure their safety, comfort, and ability to participate in school activities.
This is a full-time position starting immediately and continuing through the end of the current school year, with a strong likelihood of extension into the following school year.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide 1:1 nursing care to a medically fragile student during the school day
Manage and monitor tracheostomy (trach) care
Assist with ventilator support (vent experience preferred)
Monitor the students medical status and respond appropriately to any health concerns
Follow physician orders, care plans, and school health protocols
Document care and communicate with school staff and parents as needed
Ensure a safe and supportive learning environment for the student
Transportation Responsibilities:
This position will likely require riding the school bus or van with the student to and from school each day to provide medical supervision during transportation.
Transportation time is fully paid.
Qualifications:
Current Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license inGeorgia
Experience with tracheostomy care required
Ventilator experience strongly preferred
Pediatric or school nursing experience preferred but not required
Ability to work independently while collaborating with school staff
Compassionate, reliable, and attentive to student needs
