Job Description
We are representing a well-established and growing local General Contractor generating approximately $150M in annual revenue, seeking a Senior Estimator to take a leadership role within their preconstruction department.
With a strong pipeline of multifamily and commercial projects, this opportunity is ideal for an experienced estimator who thrives in a fast-paced environment and wants to play a key role in shaping the estimating function as the company continues to expand.
This position offers leadership responsibility, high-level visibility, and potential hybrid flexibility depending on experience.
Key ResponsibilitiesPreconstruction & Estimating Leadership• Lead full-cycle estimating efforts for ground-up and renovation projects in multifamily and commercial markets
• Prepare detailed conceptual, schematic, and GMP estimates
• Perform comprehensive quantity take-offs and cost analysis across all divisions
• Review and interpret drawings, specifications, and addenda to define scope accurately
• Develop subcontractor bid packages and solicit competitive proposals
• Analyze subcontractor bids and level scopes to ensure completeness and accuracy
• Identify risk exposure, scope gaps, and value engineering opportunities
• Support growth and structure of the estimating department as volume increases
• Assist in developing estimating standards, templates, and historical cost databases
• Provide mentorship to junior estimators or preconstruction staff as needed
• Collaborate closely with Project Management and Operations teams to ensure seamless project handoff
• Participate in client presentations and preconstruction meetings
• Maintain updated unit pricing and market cost trends
• Develop and track cost models for budgeting and forecasting
• Assist in schedule review and logistics planning during preconstruction
• Support buyout strategy and subcontractor negotiations
• Ground-up Multifamily (market-rate and/or affordable housing)
• Commercial projects (office, retail, mixed-use, light industrial, etc.)
• Experience with projects ranging from approximately $10M – $75M+ preferred
• 5+ years of estimating experience with a General Contractor
• Strong background in both multifamily and commercial construction
• Advanced take-off experience and cost modeling expertise
• Proven ability to manage multiple bids simultaneously
• Strong knowledge of construction means, methods, and sequencing
• Proficiency with estimating software, Bluebeam, Excel, and project management platforms
• Excellent analytical, communication, and leadership skills
• Ability to operate independently and drive deadlines
