Position Summary
We are seeking a skilled System Service Technician for our Poca, WV Branch with a strong IT foundation to support, deploy, and troubleshoot automated weighing and data collection systems in industrial environments. This role focuses on side-scale hardware, peripherals, and integrated system components to ensure accurate performance, compliance with industry standards, and high levels of customer satisfaction.
This role is ideal for candidates who enjoy owning technical problems end-to-end, including system configuration, network communication issues, and software-related troubleshooting in live production environments.
Requirements:What You’ll Do
- Install, configure, and support Data Collection Systems (DCS) including WeighMaster and BatchMaster
- Deploy and maintain Windows-based industrial PCs, system software, and peripheral devices
- Configure and troubleshoot local networks, IP addressing, and device communications
- Diagnose and resolve software, database, and connectivity issues in live production environments
- Perform system setup, validation, backups, and technical documentation
- Support system startups, upgrades, and customer training
- Provide technical troubleshooting on-site and remotely
- Work directly with customers to identify root causes and implement long-term fixes
- Participate in on-call and after-hours support rotations
- Travel to customer facilities as required
What We’re Looking ForRequired Qualifications
- High School diploma or equivalent
- Strong computer and technical troubleshooting skills
- Hands-on experience working with Windows operating systems
- Ability to logically diagnose system, software, or communication failures
- Comfortable working with both hardware and software components
- Customer-facing communication skills
- Clean driving record
- Willingness to travel and work irregular hours when needed
Preferred Qualifications (Strongly Considered)
- Associate’s degree in Information Technology or a related technical field preferred
- Network configuration and troubleshooting experience (IP addressing, switches, routers, device communications)
- Experience supporting field-deployed or industrial IT systems
- Familiarity with:
- Microsoft Windows (installation, configuration, troubleshooting)
- SQL Server or database-driven applications
- PLC-based or industrial control systems (Allen-Bradley a plus)
- Prior experience in:
- IT support, systems administration, or technical field service
- Industrial automation, manufacturing, or production environments
- Ability to work independently and make technical decisions in the field

The nature of the industrial weighing business is 24/7/365, and the System Service Technician must be prepared to support operations as needed. Special working conditions include:
