Job Description
Direct Counsel is seeking a Litigation Associate Attorney to join a prestigious Am Law firm in New York. This position offers the opportunity to work alongside an accomplished litigation team handling sophisticated and high-profile matters across industries.
About the RoleThe firm’s litigation practice is known for its strategic advocacy, practical problem-solving, and business-minded approach. The team represents clients in complex commercial disputes from pretrial through appeal, collaborating across practice areas to achieve efficient and effective results.
Key ResponsibilitiesHandle complex litigation matters from inception through resolution, including discovery, motion practice, and trial preparation.
Conduct legal research and draft memoranda, motions, briefs, and other pleadings.
Oversee document production and manage discovery processes.
Collaborate closely with team members and clients to advance litigation strategy.
Contribute to thought leadership initiatives through writing, speaking engagements, and client development activities.
Participate in in-office collaboration approximately 60% of the time, per firm guidelines.
JD or LLM from an ABA-accredited law school.
Admission (or eligibility for admission) to the New York Bar.
Minimum of 4 years of complex litigation experience.
Judicial clerkship experience is preferred but not required.
Exceptional written and oral communication skills.
Strong organizational skills with attention to detail.
Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
Team-oriented and professional in all client interactions.
Base salary range: $310,000 – $365,000
Annual bonus eligibility.
