Job Title: Speech Language Pathologist
Location: Queens Boulevard Extended Care Facility, Queens, NY
Pay Rate: $62 per hour on 1099
Job Summary:
Queens Boulevard Extended Care Facility is seeking a skilled Speech Language Pathologist to join our team. The Speech Language Pathologist will provide services to our residents who have communication, language, and swallowing disorders. The ideal candidate will have experience working in a skilled nursing home facility and must possess excellent communication and organizational skills.
Responsibilities:
Conduct speech and language evaluations to assess residents' communication, language, and swallowing abilities
Develop individualized treatment plans for residents to address their specific needs
Implement therapy interventions to help residents improve their communication, language, and swallowing abilities
Provide education and training to residents, families, and caregivers on communication strategies and techniques to facilitate the recovery process
Monitor and document residents' progress and adjust treatment plans as needed
Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members, including physicians, nurses, occupational therapists, and physical therapists to provide comprehensive care for residents
Maintain accurate and timely documentation of all services provided in accordance with facility and regulatory requirements
Participate in staff development programs and in-service training sessions to enhance clinical skills and knowledge
Qualifications:
Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program
Current New York State Speech-Language Pathology license
Minimum of one year of experience working as a Speech Language Pathologist in a skilled nursing home facility
Excellent communication and organizational skills
Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills
Knowledge of Medicare guidelines and regulations related to speech-language pathology services
