The Licensed Practical Nurse at Avoyelles Hospital assumes responsibility for total patient care by giving direct care to an assigned group of patients. He/she assists the RN in the nursing process to assess, plan, implement and evaluate nursing care rendered. The population served includes infants, pediatrics, adolescents, adults and geriatrics. Observes patient physiological, spiritual, and behavioral status. Performs delegated functions in compliance with hospital Policies and Procedures in an organized fashion to patients of all ages. Performs nursing functions in an organized fashion. Accountable for maintaining and improving own nursing knowledge. Supports the hospital’s Mission / Vision and objectives.
