Special Education Teacher

Overview

We are seeking a dedicated, student-centered Special Education Teacher to support a 7th/8th grade program at our charter school. This is an immediate start opportunity to join a collaborative team and provide structured, relationship-driven instruction for students who thrive with consistent supports.

What You Will Do

• Provide direct instruction and specialized academic support aligned to IEP goals
• Teach 2 sections of direct instruction (Math and Science)
• Support 2 sections of co-taught Social Studies in partnership with general education staff
• Implement accommodations, modifications, and behavior/learning supports as needed
• Collaborate with case managers, service providers, and campus teams
• Maintain compliant documentation and support progress monitoring

Qualifications

• Active Illinois PEL (or eligible) with Special Education endorsement
• Experience in middle school settings preferred
• Strong classroom management and collaboration skills
• Ability to start quickly and maintain consistent attendance through the end date
