Labor & Employment Associate (46 Years) New York

Direct Counsel represents a well-regarded Am Law firm seeking a mid-level Labor & Employment Associate to join its New York office. This is an excellent opportunity to work on a broad mix of counseling, litigation, and advisory matters within a collaborative, nationally recognized practice.

You’ll advise clients across industries on day-to-day employment issues while also handling complex disputes and strategic transactions.

What You’ll Do:

• Counsel clients on employment law matters, including discrimination, harassment, wage & hour, restrictive covenants, and leave/accommodation issues
• Conduct internal investigations and deliver client trainings
• Draft employment agreements, policies, and compliance materials
• Represent clients before agencies such as the EEOC and Department of Labor
• Defend single-plaintiff and class action litigation matters
• Advise on employment aspects of M&A transactions
• Support traditional labor matters (e.g., collective bargaining, NLRB issues) as applicable

What We’re Looking For:

• 4–6 years of labor & employment experience
• Strong background in both counseling and litigation
• Experience handling motions, discovery, and depositions independently
• Excellent writing, analytical, and client-facing skills
• Traditional labor experience is a plus
• Strong academic credentials
• Active New York Bar admission required
