CORE RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Perform mechanical disassembly and assembly of products with complex functions requiring independent judgment
• Teardown and rebuild a variety of used Tennant equipment
• Learn product through Self Study and Hands on experience and Guidance from Shop Supervisor
• Assist in all aspects of the reconditioning process
• Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems, battery, air and water-cooled combustion engines, and diesel-gas-LP powered engine problems on all Tennant products.
• Responsible for proper and safe use, maintenance, and reporting of Tennant Company property. This includes tools and equipment.
• Responsible for completing work in a timely manner and using appropriate judgement to ensure quality and cost targets are achieved on each completed machine
• Perform in-process quality checks and communicate results
• Recognize, communicate and document safety concerns
• Troubleshoot and adjust to build a quality product
• Perform housekeeping and 5S to keep the department clean, safe, and well organized
• Identify continuous improvements opportunities and report through the tier structure
• Proficient in multiple sub-assembly operations and shorter cycle time main line stations
• Consistently present professional image, both in personal appearance and condition of company equipment
• Punctuality is a must for this position and individual should have reliable means of transportation to and from work
EDUCATION EXPERIENCE:
• High school diploma, GED or equivalent
• 3+ years of experience troubleshooting, diagnosing, and repairing mobile equipment.
• Ability to pass a background check and drug screen.
• Demonstrated ability to work with minimal supervision.
• Can safely use hand and power tools, equipment, and diagnostic devices.
• Must be familiar with a variety of concepts, practices, and procedures within mechanical and electrical assembly
• History of continuous improvement within previous positions
• Related manufacturing experience is preferred
• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship
REQUIRED PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
• Routinely lift up to 40 pounds individually with most items weighing between 2 and 20 pounds. Occasionally it may be required to lift items weighing up to 90 pounds. Assistance is provided for items weighing over 60 pounds.
• Works in multiple positions during a shift
• Position requires sitting, standing, twisting, reaching, pushing, and pulling.
• Position requires bending, stooping, kneeling, or squatting on a daily basis. May be up to 30% of the day.
• Must be medically capable of performing all aspects of the job with the maximum amount of safety.
ENVIRONMENTAL EXPOSURES:
• Routinely and regularly works near moving mechanical parts
• Occasionally exposed to hot conditions
• Occasionally exposed to non-toxic fumes
• Moderate noise level
• Occasionally exposed to oil, grease, gasoline, dust, metal particles and sharp edged materials
SAFETY REQUIREMENTS:
• Must be able to wear safety glasses, steel-toed shoes and hearing protection
