Now Hiring – Ultrasound Technologist
Location: Hartford, CT – (PRN Float)

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Must accurately interpret a physician’s instructions, routine procedural protocols, prepare and operate the ultrasound equipment, associated software and equipment and position the patient to capture the appropriate images.
- Document all patient related information in radiology information system in a timely manner based on patient and radiologist workflow.
- Acquire patients' chart data/requisition and reviews both to determine correct room set-up and learn of any specific medical problems, contraindications to the study and verify that the study being ordered correlates to the diagnostic needs.
- Maintain all aspects of the ultrasound imaging area including technical and clerical components to ensure proper quality assurance results, maintenance of required documentation and keep the area in a state of inspection readiness and compliance.
- Actively participate and maintain detailed follow up of BIRADS category 0 mammographic records to ensure compliance with ACR requirements.
- Educate patients regarding procedure, equipment and exam to ensure understanding and safety.
- Provide imaging support for Varicose Vein Treatment procedures, ensuring sterile technique and imaging guidance as directed by the radiologist.
- Provide coverage as needed (i.e., in the event of call off or extended patient schedules).
- Provides instruction/mentoring to new hires. Continually strives to learn new technical information and skills through attendance of periodic in-service programs and participation in professional affiliation programs.
CERTIFICATION/LICENSE QUALIFICATIONS:
- American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS), certification required within 12 months. Certifications required: Abdomen, OB-GYN, Breast, Vascular.
- Two years Ultrasound experience.
- Must be able to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
