Job Description
A full-service, casual neighborhood Japanese restaurant located in the Dogpatch/Potrero Hill/Mission Bay has an immediate opening for a Bar Manager & Shift Lead. We are seeking a dynamic individual with strong leadership skills capable of managing administrative duties, overseeing staff, and working as the primary bartender/server at our bar.
Responsibilities
Make cocktails/drinks and serve food and beverages; explain menu items, sake, and spirits to guests.
Oversee day-to-day operations, including staff supervision, shift changes, drink and food timing, and handling customer service issues or complaints.
Manage bar inventory, supply procurement, and the restaurant drinks.
Update Toast/POS systems with daily counts and item availability.
Enforce sanitation standards and all local/state/federal legal regulations for alcohol distribution.
Ensure premises are clean and secure. Duties include opening/closing, security management, and significant manual cleaning (sweeping, mopping, polishing, and disinfecting).
Requirements
Must be 21 or older.
Minimum 2 years of bartending and management experience.
Experience with POS systems Toast, Micros, Aloha,(Toast preferred).
Required knowledge of Japanese food/sushi.
Proficiency in cocktails, beer, sake, wine, spirits, especially Japanese whisky and spirits.
Expected to work 4 to 5 shifts a week. Fridays and Saturdays 4:00 PM – 10:30 PM is required.
Must be able to lift 50 lbs and perform rigorous cleaning tasks.
Skills
