Job Description
The Safety Specialist will be working closely with the operations department to enforce all aspects of the Company’s safety program. The Safety Specialist will be hands on and work closely with our teams in the field as well as our operations department.
Responsibilities:
· Work with the operations and field teams to ensure that all Safety and quality guidelines are maintained and followed consistently in the field.
· Conduct safety audits and inspections to ensure compliance, evaluate performance, identify corrective actions and implement follow up assessments.
· Work to improve our operations and provide recommendations for safety technologies.
· Participate and run all safety trainings.
· Enforce policies implemented by the Operations teams to ensure safety and quality at all times.
· Assist employees and management on safety concerns throughout the crews.
· Participate in incident investigations, accurate recording of the details, and implementation of corrective action for all work-related incidents.
Skills
· Highly detail-oriented with excellent time-management skills.
· Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal.
· Must have desire to continually learn to stay current on applicable local, state and federal laws.
· Teachable attitude; willing to accept constructive feedback.
· Ability to quickly adapt to change and prioritize projects; must be flexible.
· Strong problem-solving skills.
· Must be able to build and maintain relationships.
· High level of personal integrity and able to maintain confidential information.
Requirements
· Bachelor’s degree in Safety, Health, or related discipline preferred
· Construction experience preferred
· Spanish - bilingual a plus (Preferred)
· OSHA 30-hour Construction Safety and Industry Standards is required
· Workers Compensation knowledge and work experience preferred.
· Must be able to safely climb up/down ladders to minimum heights of 25 ft.
