Tig Welder

Position Summary

Hartford area fabrication house is seeking a highly skilled TIG Welder / Fabricator with a minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience to join our team. This role requires precision welding, strong fabrication skills, and the ability to work from blueprints and technical drawings to produce high-quality finished products.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform TIG welding on various metals (including stainless steel, aluminum, and carbon steel, as applicable)
• Fabricate metal components and assemblies from prints, sketches, and specifications
• Read and interpret blueprints, shop drawings, and weld symbols
• Set up, operate, and maintain welding and fabrication equipment
• Measure, cut, fit, and assemble metal parts with a high degree of accuracy
• Ensure welds meet quality, strength, and appearance standards
• Inspect finished work and make adjustments as needed
• Follow all safety procedures and maintain a clean, organized work area
• Collaborate with team members to meet production schedules and deadlines

Required Qualifications

·        High school diploma or equivalent

• Minimum of 5 years of experience as a TIG Welder and Fabricator
• Proven expertise in TIG welding
• Strong fabrication skills, including layout and fit-up
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and blueprints
• Experience working with hand tools, power tools, and shop equipment
• High attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship
• Reliable, punctual, and able to work independently or as part of a team

Preferred Qualifications

• Welding certifications (AWS or equivalent)
• Experience in a manufacturing or custom fabrication environment
• Experience with light machining or additional welding processes (a plus)

Physical Requirements

• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
• Ability to work in a shop environment with exposure to heat, noise, and metal materials
