About the Role:

The Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) will play a crucial role in providing mental health services to individuals and families. This position involves conducting assessments, developing treatment plans, and delivering therapeutic interventions to support clients in overcoming personal challenges. The LMHC will collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to ensure comprehensive care and facilitate referrals to additional resources as needed. This position is primarily based in Nassau County and offers a hybrid schedule. Travel to Suffolk County locations may be required at times.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Master's degree inMentalHealthCounseling or a related degree from an accredited institution.
• Current and valid LMHClicense in the state of New York.
• Experience in a clinical setting providing mental health services.

Responsibilities:

• Conduct thorough assessments of clients' mental health needs and develop individualized treatment plans.
• Provide individual, group, and family therapy sessions to address various psychological and emotional issues.
• Maintainaccurateand confidential client records in compliance with legal and ethical standards.
• Collaborate with healthcare professionals, community organizations, and family members to coordinate care and support services.
• Stay informed about best practices incounselorand mental health to continuously improve service delivery.

Excellent communication skills are vital for building rapport with clients and collaborating with other professionals. Empathy and active listening are crucial in providing a supportive environment where clients feel safe to express their concerns. Preferred skills, such as knowledge of various therapeutic modalities, enhance the LMHC’s ability to tailor interventions to meet individual client needs. Additionally, organizational skills are necessary for maintaining accurate records and managing caseloads efficiently. Providers will use Electronic Medical Records (EMR) systems and Microsoft Office products on a regular basis.
