Associate Attorney - Civil Litigation

Wilson Getty LLP, a mid-sized San Diego litigation firm, is seeking a dynamic Associate Attorney with 2–6 years of experience to join our civil litigation practice. Our firm focuses on the defense of skilled nursing facilities (SNFs), assisted living facilities, and healthcare providers, with an emphasis on elder abuse and high-exposure matters.

This role offers the opportunity to take on meaningful responsibility, develop case strategy, and gain hands-on litigation experience in a collaborative and professional environment.

Responsibilities

• Manage civil litigation matters from inception through resolution, including case evaluation, investigation, and discovery
• Develop and execute defense strategies in elder abuse and related claims
• Draft pleadings, motions, discovery, and other legal documents with precision and clarity
• Conduct legal research using tools such as LexisNexis
• Take and defend depositions; attend hearings, mediations, and settlement conferences
• Communicate with clients, insurance carriers, opposing counsel, and experts
• Prepare cases for trial, including evidence organization and witness coordination

Qualifications

• 2–6 years of civil litigation experience (insurance defense preferred)
• Strong writing, research, and analytical skills
• Experience with discovery, motion practice, and depositions
• Ability to manage multiple cases and deadlines effectively
• Active member in good standing with the California State Bar
