Role Summary :

We are seeking a skilled PDK Developer to create and maintain Process Design Kits (PDKs) for advanced semiconductor nodes, ensuring seamless integration with Cadence Virtuoso and other EDA tools.

Key Responsibilities 

  • Develop, validate, and document compact models (BSIM4, BSIM-CMG, PSP, etc.) and corner libraries for foundry PDKs.
  • Generate GDSII tech files, Pcells, and DRC/LVS rule decks compatible with IC6.1.8+ and Virtuoso Studio IC23/IC25.
  • Perform statistical model extraction, Monte-Carlo validation, and temperature/voltage sweeps for analog/mixed-signal IP.
  • Collaborate with foundry partners on PDK releases, model handoffs, and migration flows (e.g., Layout Migrate).
  • Extensive experience with BSIM4 and BSIMProPlus modeling tool, or any other tool such as Silvaco, IC-Cap, etc.
  • Detailed knowledge of parameter fitting and optimization, with numerous interacting variables.
  • Knowledge of the steps involved in modeling from measurement to final model generation including various corners at various temperatures (Global and bins).
  • Experience in creating Pcells in SKILL and pyCells for iPDK.
  • Understanding of device physics, Short Channel Effects, DIBL, GIDL, SS parameters, Body effect, Gm/Id as a design parameter, etc.
  • Basic understanding of simple analog/digital circuits and how to test the generated model on simple circuits such as Inverters, Ring Oscillators, amplifiers, etc.
  • Fundamental understanding of IV and CV characteristics of FinFet devices. 
  • Knowledge of Layout-Dependent Effects (LDE) in device modeling where the electrical performance is influenced by physical surroundings on the chip layout.


Work Experience

Qualifications Required Skills 

  • B.Tech/M.Tech in VLSI/ECE with -5-7 years in PDK development or compact modeling.
  • Strong expertise in BSIM models (BSIM4/BSIM6 for planar, BSIM-IMG/CMG for FinFET/GAAFET).
  • Proficiency in SKILL, Python, TCL for Pcell development and automation; Verilog-A for behavioral models.
  • Hands-on with Virtuoso ADE, layout migration, and foundry PDKs (TSMC, GlobalFoundries, etc.).
