Job Title: Certified Surgical Technologist – CVOR
Location: Salem, VA
Schedule: Full-time, Day Shift (Rotating Weekends)
Shift Options: 6:00 AM – 2:30 PM or 9:00 AM – 5:30 PM
Position Type: Permanent

Compensation:

• OR Tech: $24.87 – $29.85 – $34.82/hour
• CVOR Tech: $27.36 – $32.83 – $38.30/hour

Job Summary:

The Certified Surgical Technologist – CVOR is responsible for assisting in surgical procedures, maintaining the integrity of the operating environment, and supporting patient care in a high-acuity cardiovascular operating room setting. This role requires proficiency in surgical instrumentation, patient registration, and infant testing procedures.

Key Responsibilities:

• Register and pre-register obstetric patients and process patient information accurately.
• Demonstrate proficiency in computer systems and documentation.
• Communicate effectively and professionally with internal and external stakeholders.
• Maintain cleanliness and functionality of the physical environment and surgical equipment.
• Pursue opportunities for personal and professional development.
• Scrub for C-sections and other surgical procedures, demonstrating knowledge of surgical instrumentation.
• Perform infant testing and assist with tasks as directed by the Registered Nurse.

Qualifications:

• Knowledge of medical terminology.
• Basic computer proficiency.
• Strong customer service skills, including effective listening.
• Physical ability to perform tasks requiring frequent standing, bending, reaching, squatting, kneeling, and lifting up to 50 pounds.

Education & Licensure:

• Completion of an accredited Surgical Tech program (or grandfathered in by the state).
• BLS certification required within 90 days of employment.
• Surgical Technician license required.
• Must be registered with the State of Virginia.

Experience:

• Previous surgical tech experience preferred.
• 1–2 years of scrub or hospital experience preferred.

Additional Considerations:

• OR Techs will be considered if they meet the educational and licensure requirements.
• Candidates must be licensed in the State of Virginia as a Surgical Technician.
