Progressive Care/ Step‐Down Registered Nurse (PCU/SDU RN)

Care for high‐acuity patients who need close monitoring—without full ICU intensity.

We’re seeking experienced and confident Progressive Care / Step‐Down Registered Nurses to care for patients requiring advanced monitoring and frequent assessments. If you enjoy managing complex conditions, early intervention, and collaborative care, this role offers meaningful impact every shift.

• 12‐Hour and 8‐Hour Shifts Available

12‐Hour Shifts

• 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM (Days)
• 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM (Nights)

What You’ll Do

• Provide comprehensive nursing care to patients transitioning from ICU or requiring advanced monitoring
• Perform frequent patient assessments and monitor cardiac rhythms, oxygenation, and vital signs
• Administer medications, IV therapies, and treatments per provider orders
• Manage patients with cardiac, respiratory, neurological, or post‐surgical conditions
• Recognize early signs of deterioration and escalate care appropriately
• Collaborate with physicians, ICU teams, and interdisciplinary care partners
• Educate patients and families on conditions, treatments, and recovery plans
• Maintain patient safety, infection control, and quality‐of‐care standards
• Document assessments, interventions, and outcomes accurately in the medical record

What We’re Looking For

• Active RN license in the state of practice
• Minimum of 1 year of recent Progressive Care, Step‐Down, Telemetry, or ICU RN experience required
• BLS required (ACLS preferred)
• Strong assessment, cardiac monitoring, and critical‐thinking skills
• Ability to manage higher‐acuity patients in a fast‐paced environment
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills
• Calm, confident approach to patient care and clinical decision‐making
