Billing Accountant

Job Summary/Company: Sparks Group is seeking a detail-oriented Professional Accountant (Billing) to support revenue recognition and billing operations in a fast-paced environment. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working with data, partnering cross-functionally, and improving processes.

Responsibilities:

• Record revenue in compliance with ASC 606
• Support month-end close (billings, adjustments, AR reconciliations, reporting)
• Prepare financial reports and analyze billing data for trends
• Monitor AR aging and escalate issues as needed
• Partner with Sales, Legal, and Operations to ensure accurate contract billing
• Maintain billing documentation and support audit requests
• Assist with system implementations, automation, and process improvements
• Resolve billing discrepancies and support client accounts

Qualifications/Background Profile:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
• 1–3 years of accounting experience; 2+ years in billing preferred
• Experience reviewing contracts strongly preferred
• Knowledge of ASC 606 and revenue recognition principles
• Oracle experience preferred; Salesforce a plus
• Advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, lookups, data analysis)
• Strong attention to detail, organization, and ability to meet deadlines
