Job Description
The Assembler operates a variety of metal fabricating and forming equipment to cut, shape, and bend metal plates, sheets, tubes, and structures, while completing high-quality assemblies and subassemblies in a modern manufacturing environment. This role requires a reliable, coachable individual who enjoys hands-on work, follows instructions carefully, and contributes positively to a collaborative production team.
Responsibilities
- Operate fabricating machines such as cutoff saws, shears, rolls, brakes, presses, forming machines, spinning machines, and punches to cut, shape, and bend metal plates, sheets, tubes, and structures.
- Perform assembly and subassembly processes using hand tools, presses, power tools, and fastening machines according to work instructions and specifications.
- Measure workpiece dimensions to verify accuracy of machine operations and ensure parts meet quality standards.
- Conduct changeovers on equipment when necessary to support different products or production runs.
- Maintain the work area and equipment in a clean, organized, and orderly condition to support safety and efficiency.
- Report defective materials, equipment issues, or questionable conditions promptly to the appropriate team lead or supervisor.
- Follow all safety procedures and guidelines while working around machines and moving mechanical parts.
- Collaborate with team members to meet production goals, support continuous improvement, and resolve issues on the line.
- Perform related duties and additional tasks as assigned by supervision to support overall production needs.
Essential Skills
- Ability to operate or learn to operate fabricating machines such as cutoff saws, shears, rolls, brakes, presses, forming machines, spinning machines, and punches.
- Proficiency in using basic hand tools and power tools safely and effectively for assembly work.
- Ability to read and interpret basic measurements to verify workpiece dimensions and machine accuracy.
- Capability to perform repetitive tasks while maintaining attention to detail and quality.
- Reliability, punctuality, and a strong sense of responsibility for assigned tasks.
- Positive attitude with a team-oriented mindset and willingness to support co-workers.
- Flexibility and initiative to adapt to changing priorities and production requirements.
- Ability to stand on feet and move around the production area for the full shift and comfortably lift up to approximately 30 pounds.
- Minimum age of 18 years or older.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Previous manufacturing or production experience (preferred but not required).
- Ability to read and follow basic instructions, procedures, and work orders.
- Comfort working around moving mechanical parts and operating in a production environment.
- Coachability and openness to feedback, training, and skill development.
- Basic familiarity with blueprints is beneficial.
- General labor experience in a warehouse or industrial setting is an advantage.

Work Environment
This role is based in a modern, state-of-the-art manufacturing facility and warehouse that is temperature controlled for comfort throughout the year. You will work on or near production equipment and moving mechanical parts, with a typical noise level that is generally normal for a manufacturing setting. The position is physically active, requiring you to stand on your feet and move around the production area for the entire shift and lift up to approximately 30 pounds as part of regular duties. You will regularly use hand tools, power tools, presses, and other fabrication equipment in a structured, safety-conscious environment that values cleanliness, organization, and orderly work areas.
Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of Nampa, ID.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $15.00 - $19.70/hr.
