Job Description
This position is responsible for supporting the superintendent and field team on the construction of projects and growing their own knowledge of the building process. Must understand the project approach and manage assigned responsibilities to ensure successful outcomes. Must take an active role in their own person development, seek internal training opportunities to gain experience and be willing to receive mentorship from lead and senior superintendents.
Key Responsibilities Include but are not limited to:
• Assist in developing project CPM schedule, subcontracts/purchase orders and project responsibility listing
• Ability to follow and manage a trade, including MEP scopes
• Work with PM and Superintendent to understand project floor plans, submittals, blueprints, construction codes as affected by local and state ordinances
• Ability to assist in all aspects of the project from demo to finish
• Ability to read blueprints
• Order materials and schedule inspections
• Develop positive and productive relationships with owners, customers, sub-contractors, suppliers and other employees
• Provide administrative support for the Project Superintendent and leadership to project staff
• Coordinate, cooperate and communicate with the Project Managers, Field Personnel and Subcontractors
• Assist with completing and submitting schedule updates
• Arrange and secure permits with local cities
• Assist with analyzing job costs and maintain accurate reports, assisting in completion of Profit Projection Reports and in analyzing labor costs
• Manage processing and tracking monthly Owner Payment Application
• Track, review and process change order requests
• Implement all applicable safety, EEO and Affirmative Action programs
• Manage preparation/execution of project closeout process
Skills & Qualifications
• Must be willing to travel locally as needed and some possible overnight travel may be necessary in the future
• Must have strong computer skills, Procore a plus, Microsoft Office, Excel, Outlook
• Associate’s degree, or Bachelor's degree preferred in construction management or relevant working experience
• General knowledge of construction principles/processes required
• Experience building relationships with owners and managing field staff
• Proven commitment and experience with safety programs
