Position Summary

The Aquatic Biologist – Ponds Division is responsible for supporting and implementing lake and pond management projects, conducting treatments, and providing technical expertise to clients. This position involves extensive fieldwork, travel throughout Wisconsin and surrounding states, and collaboration with team members across the Habitat Division. The Aquatic Biologist plays a key role in delivering effective, science-based pond management solutions, while maintaining strong client relationships and high standards of project execution.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist with the development and implementation of pond and lake management strategies aligned with client objectives
  • Support aquatic pesticide applications and nutrient mitigation efforts in compliance with state and federal regulations
  • Assist with the installation, maintenance, and repair of pond aeration and fountain systems
  • Prepare, load, transport, and unload equipment and materials required for project completion
  • Maintain cleanliness, organization, and readiness of facilities, tools, and materials
  • Communicate professionally with clients regarding services, schedules, site conditions, and arrival times
  • Collaborate with coworkers across divisions to support project planning and completion
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by the Supervisor

 

Qualifications

Required:

  • Ability to lift 85 lbs. or more
  • Ability to work outdoors in varying and inclement weather conditions
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Willingness to travel daily, with occasional overnight stays
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills with coworkers and clients
  • Demonstrated problem-solving skills and ability to adapt in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to report to the Berlin, WI office location daily

Preferred (Not Required):

  • Wisconsin Aquatic Commercial Pesticide Applicator License
  • Basic plumbing and/or electrical knowledge
  • Wisconsin Boater Safety Course (or comparable certification)
  • Commercial Driver’s License (CDL)
