Shipping & Receiving Associate
Job Summary
The Shipping & Receiving Associate is responsible for managing incoming and outgoing shipments, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and proper documentation. This role supports warehouse operations by maintaining inventory integrity, preparing orders for shipment, and coordinating with internal teams and carriers.
Key Responsibilities
Receiving Duties
• Receive, inspect, and verify incoming shipments against purchase orders and packing slips
• Unload trucks using equipment such as forklifts or pallet jacks
• Record and report damaged or missing items
• Accurately enter received goods into inventory systems
• Organize and store products in designated warehouse locations
Shipping Duties
• Pick, pack, and prepare orders for shipment according to company standards
• Verify order accuracy before shipment
• Generate shipping labels and required documentation (BOLs, packing lists, etc.)
• Coordinate with carriers to schedule pickups
• Ensure shipments meet customer and regulatory requirements
Inventory & Warehouse Support
• Maintain accurate inventory counts and assist with cycle counts or physical inventories
• Keep warehouse clean, organized, and safe
• Assist in material handling and internal product movement
• Follow all safety procedures and company policies
Qualifications
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred
• Previous warehouse, shipping/receiving, or logistics experience preferred
• Ability to operate forklifts and other warehouse equipment (certification may be required)
• Basic computer skills (ERP/WMS systems experience a plus)
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for extended periods

Work Environment

• Standing and walking for long periods
• Ability to safely operate warehouse equipment
Preferred (Optional)
• Forklift certification
• Experience with shipping carriers (UPS, FedEx, LTL freight)
• Familiarity with inventory management systems
