Duties

  • Prepare and cook menu items with precision, ensuring consistency and quality in every dish
  • Follow established recipes and plating standards to deliver visually appealing meals
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of workstations, adhering to strict food safety protocols
  • Handle food ingredients safely, including proper storage, handling, and sanitation practices
  • Support kitchen staff during busy periods by efficiently managing multiple orders simultaneously
  • Participate in food preparation for catering events, special functions, or banquet services
  • Use knife skills expertly to chop, slice, dice, and portion ingredients accurately
  • Ensure all food handling procedures comply with health regulations and safety standards
  • Collaborate with team members to ensure timely service and excellent customer satisfaction
  • Assist with inventory management by monitoring stock levels and communicating needs to management

Qualifications

  • Proven experience in any restaurant or food industry setting
  • Strong culinary skills including food preparation, cooking techniques, and knife proficiency
  • Knowledge of food safety standards and proper handling procedures
  • Experience with menu planning and meal assembly in a fast-paced environment
  • Background in dietary department or dietary aide roles is a plus
  • Excellent food service skills with an understanding of serving protocols
  • Ability to work efficiently under pressure while maintaining attention to detail
  • Familiarity with kitchen equipment and tools used in professional cooking environments
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively within a team
