Job Description
Position Overview:
We are seeking a reliable, energetic, and experienced Floor Supervisor to oversee daily operations at our dog daycare facility. This role is responsible for ensuring a safe, clean, and engaging environment for all dogs while leading a team of daycare attendants. The ideal candidate is confident handling dogs of all sizes and temperaments, has strong leadership skills, and thrives in a fast-paced, animal-focused setting.
Key Responsibilities:
• Supervise and coordinate daily floor operations, including group play, feeding, rest periods, and cleaning routines
• Monitor dog behavior to ensure safe and appropriate group interactions; intervene when necessary
• Lead, train, and support daycare staff to maintain high standards of care and safety
• Assign tasks and manage staff schedules during shifts
• Conduct temperament assessments for new dogs and assist with group placements
• Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of all play areas, kennels, and common spaces
• Communicate with pet owners regarding their dogs’ behavior, activities, and any concerns
• Ensure compliance with company policies, safety procedures, and animal welfare standards
• Assist with incident reporting and emergency response when needed
Qualifications:
• Previous experience working with dogs in a daycare, kennel, shelter, or veterinary setting (supervisory experience preferred)
• Strong understanding of dog behavior and body language
• Leadership and team management skills
• Ability to remain calm and make quick decisions in high-energy situations
• Physically able to stand for long periods, lift up to 50 lbs, and work in an active environment
• Reliable, punctual, and detail-oriented
Preferred Skills:
• Certification in animal care, pet first aid, or related field
• Experience with scheduling and staff coordination
• Strong customer service and communication skills
