NDT Parts Handler
Role Summary
The NDT Parts Handler is a critical link in our Quality Assurance pipeline, ensuring the seamless and safe transition of high-value components through the Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) lifecycle. You will be responsible for the meticulous preparation, movement, and documentation of parts, serving as the first line of defense in maintaining the integrity of our inspection process.
Key Responsibilities
- Process Flow Management: Coordinate the safe loading, unloading, and staging of complex components onto specialized inspection equipment (Ultrasonic, X-Ray, FPI).
- Precision Preparation: Execute rigorous part-cleaning and surface-marking protocols to ensure optimal detection conditions for NDT Technicians.
- Data Integrity: Maintain "impeccable" digital and physical documentation, tracking part movement and status to ensure 100% traceability.
- Equipment Stewardship: Assist in the basic setup and upkeep of testing fixtures, ensuring all tools are calibrated and ready for high-precision use.
- Safety & Compliance: Strictly adhere to aerospace/industrial safety standards and PPE requirements to protect both the team and the hardware.
The Ideal Candidate
- Detail-Oriented: You notice the small things—a smudge on a part or a gap in a logbook.
- Physically Capable: Comfortable maneuvering heavy or delicate parts and working in a fast-paced industrial environment.
- Team Player: You enjoy working as the "engine" that keeps the NDT lab running smoothly.
- Process-Driven: You follow SOPs (Standard Operating Procedures) to the letter because you understand that safety depends on it.
Aerospace Testing Lab, Inc. began in 1976 by George & Gary Toper, John & Nicholas Ferreira and Paul Schmidt. The partners of ATL all worked and had experience in the field of non-destructive testing when they decided to branch off and start their own business. Since then ATL has developed into a company driven by success. Small beginnings in a tiny shop in East Hartford, CT paved the way for it's future as a leader in the industry of NDT. Currently ATL has assimilated into a 28,000 sq. ft. facility with over 50 employees.
Located at 32 South Satellite Rd. in South Windsor, CT Aerospace Testing Lab, Inc. has been relied on for the testing of components that have eventually made their way into the Space shuttle, International space station, JSF, F22, M1 Abrams, and countless other machines at the pinnacle of human ability. ATL has also been a forerunner into the testing of new materials and composites others couldn't or wouldn't inspect. Here, we say that if you can make it, we can inspect it. As a trusted industry leader for 50 years we like to think we're not just selling our quality service, we're selling peace of mind.
