Substitute Teacher

Austin Waldorf School is seeking experienced substitute teachers at every level, Pre-K through Grade 12, to join our master substitute list for the 2025-2026 school year. The ideal candidates will have demonstrated success working in the classroom with class sizes ranging from 14-32 students. Substitute teachers work on a flexible schedule and may be called to fill in on the morning of or the evening prior to the school day for which their services are needed.

Ideally, substitute teacher candidates will be familiar with or possess a strong interest in learning about Waldorf education. They will demonstrate a commitment to using a multi-sensory approach to learning and have excellent classroom management skills. They will have a love of learning and teaching students of all ages.

Job Requirements:

• Possess a Bachelor's Degree, Waldorf Training, or relevant experience

• Demonstrate strong classroom management skills

• Be able to follow the teacher’s lesson plan and pivot when necessary

• Possess strong communication skills
