Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) + 1 Year Experience Required

*Primary Care Services utilizes electronic health records, EPIC, have achieved Meaningful Use requirements and are a NCQA Level 3 Certified Patient Centered Medical Home, (PCMH).

Our busy medical practice is looking for a CERTIFIED medical assistant for a full time position. Must be proficient with EKG's, immunizations and injections, phlebotomy, obtaining vitals and patient medical history. Previous experience working with EPIC EMR is a plus.

Essential Functions/Core Competences:

• Admit patients to exam rooms
• Ensure proper medical documentation, medications, progress notes, lab results, vital signs and medical history
• Identify patient's chief complaint or reason for visit
• Prepare patient for doctor
• Patient call backs, prescription calls, patient education of procedures and testing,
• Patient notification of lab/test results when requested, and chart preparation
• Clean and stock examination rooms
• Answering phone calls and setting up appointments

• Maintain a neat and orderly work environment,
• Demonstrates the ability to organize and prioritize work during heavy workload situations to expedite patient care
• Maintain strictest confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA compliance
• Perform quality work within deadlines with or without direct supervision
• Work effectively as a team contributor on all assignments
• Work independently while understanding the need to communicate and coordinate work efforts with other employees and organizations

Education and Training Requirements:

• MA Certification
• Minimum of 1 to 2 years of experience as a Medical Assistant
• Strong knowledge of OSHA requirements and guidelines.
• Working knowledge of computers and computer software programs.
• Experience working with EMR systems preferred.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Bi-lingual (English/Spanish) preferred.
• Knowledge of insurance benefit plans helpful.
• Good organizational and technical skills.

Job Type: Full-time
Expected hours: 40 per week
