Medical Assistant (Dermatology – Hands-On Clinical Role)

Location: Key West, FL
Pay: Starting at $28 - $30 + per hour DOE
Schedule: Full-Time

About the Role

We are seeking a hands-on, clinically focused Medical Assistant to join a fast-paced dermatology practice. This role is primarily procedural and patient-facing, ideal for someone who enjoys being directly involved in patient care and assisting with a wide range of dermatologic treatments.

While prior dermatology experience is a plus, we are willing to train the right candidate who brings strong clinical fundamentals, attention to detail, and a desire to grow in a procedural setting.

What You’ll Be Doing (Clinical Focus)

• Prepare patients and exam rooms for medical, cosmetic, and surgical procedures
• Assist providers during procedures, exams, and treatments
• Take medical histories and document patient concerns
• Administer medications under provider direction
• Capture and manage pre- and post-procedure photos
• Assist with minor surgical procedures, including:
• • Suture removal
  • Dressing changes
  • Wound care
• Collect, label, and process lab specimens
• Educate patients on post-procedure care and medications
• Sterilize instruments and maintain a sterile field
• Monitor medication and supply expiration dates
• Restock, clean, and turn over exam rooms efficiently
• Provide attentive, compassionate, and detail-oriented patient care

Additional Responsibilities

• Document patient interactions and procedures accurately in the EHR (ModMed)
• Support overall clinic flow and ensure a smooth patient experience
• Assist with light administrative tasks as needed

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required
• 1+ year of clinical experience preferred (open to training the right candidate)
• Dermatology or procedural experience is a plus, but not required
