Job Description
Overview
We are hiring Weld Inspectors / Test Technicians to support a long-term semiconductor project at a leading manufacturing site in Taylor, TX. This is a hands-on, field-based role working directly with advanced manufacturing systems, piping, and ultra-high purity (UHP) environments.
This is an excellent opportunity for candidates with mechanical, construction, machining, or welding backgrounds looking to break into the semiconductor industry with long-term growth potential.
Key Responsibilities
- Inspect orbital GTAW (TIG) welds to acceptance criteria
- Document accepted/rejected welds and coordinate rework
- Perform quality inspections (QA/QC) on piping systems and installations
- Conduct system walkdowns (gas, chemical, and utility lines)
- Witness and document pressure testing
- Ensure compliance with UHP (Ultra-High Purity) procedures
- Work closely with welders, contractors, and engineers
- Operate in cleanroom and sub-fab environments
What We’re Looking For
We are targeting candidates with hands-on, technical backgrounds such as:
- Welding / fabrication / orbital welding exposure
- Machining, CNC, or mechanical experience
- Construction or industrial field work
- Quality Control (QC) / Quality Assurance (QA)
- Blueprint reading, measurements, tolerances
- Maintenance, piping systems, or instrumentation
✅ Strong mechanical aptitude is critical
✅ Experience with tools, machinery, or inspections preferred
✅ Veterans strongly encouraged to apply
Physical & Work Requirements
- Lift, push, pull up to 50 lbs daily
- Walk several miles per shift in large facilities
- Climb ladders and work at heights (with fall protection)
- Work in cleanroom PPE (full suit, mask, gloves, etc.)
- Ability to work extended hours (40–70 hrs/week depending on project needs)

- Schedule: 40–70 hours/week (OT + Double Time available)

Requirements (Must Have)
- High School Diploma or GED
- OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 Certification (required)
- Valid Driver’s License & reliable transportation
- Ability to pass drug screen & background check
- Authorized to work in the U.S. (no sponsorship)
Work Environment
- Semiconductor manufacturing facility (fab & sub-fab)
- Construction-style environment with multiple trades
- Cleanroom and industrial conditions
- Full training provided (technical + safety + SOPs)
