Position Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Dermatology Medical Scribe with phlebotomy experience to join our growing team. This role is ideal for someone looking to gain hands-on clinical experience in a fast-paced dermatology setting while supporting providers and enhancing patient care.
Key Responsibilities
Medical Scribing:
- Accurately document patient encounters in real-time within Nextech our electronic medical record (EMR)
- Record patient history, physical exams, procedures, and treatment plans
- Assist providers with chart completion to ensure timely and compliant documentation
- Maintain strict patient confidentiality and HIPAA compliance
Clinical Support:
- Prepare exam rooms and assist providers during dermatologic procedures
- Perform phlebotomy (venipuncture, specimen collection)
- Ensure proper handling and documentation of lab specimens
- Assist provider with various procedures
Qualifications
- Previous experience as a medical scribe (preferred, dermatology experience a plus)
- Phlebotomy certification or proven experience required
- Strong understanding of medical terminology
- Excellent typing and documentation skills
- Ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced environment
- Professional demeanor with strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Commitment to patient care and confidentiality
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in dermatology or other outpatient specialty clinics
- Familiarity with Nextech EMR
- Interest in pursuing a career in healthcare (pre-med, nursing, PA, etc.)
