Dermatology Medical Scribe (Phlebotomy Experience Required)

Position Overview

We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Dermatology Medical Scribe with phlebotomy experience to join our growing team. This role is ideal for someone looking to gain hands-on clinical experience in a fast-paced dermatology setting while supporting providers and enhancing patient care.

Key Responsibilities

Medical Scribing:

• Accurately document patient encounters in real-time within Nextech our electronic medical record (EMR)
• Record patient history, physical exams, procedures, and treatment plans
• Assist providers with chart completion to ensure timely and compliant documentation
• Maintain strict patient confidentiality and HIPAA compliance

Clinical Support:

• Prepare exam rooms and assist providers during dermatologic procedures
• Perform phlebotomy (venipuncture, specimen collection)
• Ensure proper handling and documentation of lab specimens
• Assist provider with various procedures

Qualifications

• Previous experience as a medical scribe (preferred, dermatology experience a plus)
• Phlebotomy certification or proven experience required
• Strong understanding of medical terminology
• Excellent typing and documentation skills
• Ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced environment
• Professional demeanor with strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Commitment to patient care and confidentiality

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in dermatology or other outpatient specialty clinics
• Familiarity with Nextech EMR
• Interest in pursuing a career in healthcare (pre-med, nursing, PA, etc.)
