Aquatics Director
Chagrin Valley Racquet Club – Chagrin Falls, Ohio

Chagrin Valley Racquet Club is seeking an experienced and responsible Aquatics Director to oversee the daily operations and safety of our indoor and outdoor pool facilities. This leadership position is responsible for managing lifeguards, maintaining a safe and clean aquatic environment, and ensuring an excellent experience for members and guests.

The ideal candidate will be organized, safety-focused, and comfortable supervising staff while maintaining high operational standards.

Schedule

Candidates must be willing to work mornings, midday, evenings, weekends, and holidays as required by pool operations.

Requirements

  • Must be at least 21 years of age

  • Current certifications in Lifeguarding, First Aid, and CPR

  • Minimum 2 years of lifeguard supervisory experience

  • Reliable transportation

  • Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills

Key Responsibilities

  • Create and manage lifeguard schedules to ensure proper coverage during pool operating hours and fill in as needed.

  • Train and orient new lifeguards, ensuring all staff maintain current certifications and are competent in water rescue procedures.

  • Monitor swimmer safety and enforce all pool rules and regulations.

  • Coordinate and maintain safe swimming conditions in the pool, on the deck, and surrounding areas.

  • Maintain emergency readiness and enforce all health and safety standards.

  • Test and maintain water chemistry, including monitoring chlorine levels and pH balance, and keep accurate chemical records.

  • Communicate with management regarding pool maintenance needs, including cleaning, chemical adjustments, and repairs.

  • Address member and guest concerns, providing professional responses and feedback.

  • Open and close the pool, including removing and replacing the pool cover.

  • Vacuum and skim the pool daily and throughout the day as needed.

  • Perform routine inspections of the pool area, desk, locker rooms, and surrounding facilities to ensure cleanliness and safety.

  • Provide assistance to swimmers and respond to any safety incidents.

  • Perform additional duties as assigned by club management.
