We are looking for a Physician Billing Supervisor to join our team! This position is for our Melville location. This person acts as a liaison between departments, director, management and staff. Collects information related to operations of assigned area. Prepares regular summaries and reports for management as appropriate. Performs follow up receivables and postings for patients and third-party accounts.
Responsibilities:
- · Oversees the units daily work activities.
- · Conducts on the job training.
- · Maintains current account receivables and productivity reporting.
- · Provides scheduling of weekly work direction.
- · Implementation of quality control measures (HIPAA and new laws of medical field).
- · Assists in implementation of approved administrative software systems.
- · Monitors information related to operations.
- · Ensures billing is submitted accurately and timely.
- · Performs follow up on open accounts receivables (telephone calls with carriers or viewing carriers’ website).
- · Ensures accuracy of adjustments and balances.
- · Conducts staff productivity audits
- · Assists internal and external customers regarding questions on third-party billing.
- · Handles patient complaints to conclusion.
- · Prepares performance evaluations.
- · Recommends appropriate personal actions for staff.
- · Performs other incidental and related duties as required and assigned.
Qualifications:
- · High school diploma or GED required.
- · College degree in appropriate field preferred.
- · 3 years’ experience minimum in a supervisor position, preferably in a health care organization.
- · Licenses/Certifications preferred:
- Certified Professional Coder (CPC)
- Certified Coding Specialist (CCS)
- Certified Coding Specialist Physician (CCSP)
- · Related experience preferred.
- · Full knowledge of the Company’s policies and procedures.
- · Knowledge of HIPAA regulations and maintains current industry knowledge.
- · Proficient in Epic software system.
- · Ability to speak and present to large groups.
- · Full knowledge of medical terminology, ICD-9/10 and CPT coding.
- · Knowledge of the New York State third-party regulations.
- · Proficient credit and collection practices.
- · Ability to function well in a high-paced and at times stressful environment.
- · Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
- · Full knowledge of billing government payors
- · Familiar with Medicaid delay codes
- · Demonstrates strong interpersonal, communication, written, and typing skills.
- · Proficient with Microsoft Office or related software.
- · Ability to work efficiently both independently and in a team environment.
- · Ability to multitask.
- · Exceptional organizational skills and detail oriented.
