Van Driver

SUMMARY

Van Driver loads and drives truck where directed. Picks up and delivers, services trucks, understands rules and regulations.  Must have valid Pennsylvania driver's license.  Operates in accordance with Greenleaf's Company driver specifications.

 ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

•  Operate a stake body, van or pick-up type truck to pick up and deliver products, materials, supplies equipment, etc.
• Check dispatch orders and materials for delivery; plan route and stops; load truck and secure/tie down shipment for transport.
• Pick up and deliver mail from plants. 
• Pick up and deliver carbide and ceramics as scheduled. 
• Make small item purchases for all plants. 
• Pick up specially ordered materials at warehouses or depots; deliver products to manufacturers, warehouses or depots for shipment by carriers.
• Obtain signature on shipping slips and sign for materials picked up. Deliver paperwork to proper departments.
• Check oil lubrication, cooling system, battery, tire pressure.  Ensure that van has tune-ups and that all illuminating and running lights, brakes, etc. are up to Pennsylvania motor vehicle inspection standards. 
• Keep van clean and neat at all times. 
• Operate van within the regulations of Pennsylvania State motor vehicle code at all times.  Must wear seat belt while driving truck.  Follow all company safe driving regulations. 
• Perform other maintenance functions as directed such as grounds work, sweeping; building cleaning such as window washing.  Assist maintenance department as needed.
