Join the overnight team at the Sonnenalp Hotel as a Full-Time, Year-Round Night Auditor. Where precision, hospitality, and luxury service come together to create a seamless guest experience, even after hours.

Wage: $23.00 - $25.00 /hour

Typical Schedule: Overnight Shift 10:45pm to 6:45am, weekends and holidays required

Primary Purpose of Position

To greet, register, check out, and assist guests efficiently, courteously, and professionally in all Front Office related functions. To maintain the highest standard of service and hospitality at all times. The Night Auditor is responsible for completing all accounting procedures in a timely fashion. It is important he/she knows how to work the phones and take reservations, and is familiar with all departments of the hotel.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Possess a valid driver’s license and be able to park and drive vehicles and fill in for valet parking duties
  • Possess a thorough knowledge of check-in and check-out of guests according to the LHW standards.
  • To be completely familiar with all front desk computer operations and procedures for arrivals and departures.
  • Complete knowledge of the hotel and surrounding area.
  • Maintain control on all room keys and departmental keys and ensure that sign out procedures are followed.
  • Handle and respond to customer complaints and needs calmly within scope of authority.
  • Post charges to guests, master bills, and other applicable accounts.
  • To assist in the operation of the PBX switchboard; take messages for guests and hotel staff.
  • Set wake up calls on the phone system.
  • Learn and adhere to all fire and emergency procedures, including procedures for handling of the fire panel
  • Have a full knowledge of the VIP/escort program and be able to escort guests to their room.
  • Other duties as needed including run daily revenue reports; verify all cash deposits from the Spa, Front Desk, and F&B outlets; and prepare the daily bank deposit.

Food & Beverage

  • Ensure that all overnight room service orders are taken in accordance with LHW standards.
  • Prepare late night menu items and ensure proper delivery techniques and timely delivery in accordance with LHW standards.

Housekeeping

  • Ensure that all overnight request for Housekeeping, including but not limited to: extra pillows, rollaway, baby crib, humidifier, towels, blankets are met in a timely manner.

Education/Experience

  • High School Diploma or equivalent (GED)
  • Valid Colorado Driver’s license and clean driving record
  • Minimum one year Customer Service experience.

Recommended Skills and Qualifications

  • Prior experience with HMS or similar Lodging Software preferred.
  • Efficient with computers, Microsoft Office, and web based systems.
  • Ability to work under minimal supervision; self-motivated & self-starter.
  • Effective interpersonal and public speaking skills.
  • Effective organizational skills.
  • Demonstrate effective leadership and coaching skills.

Special Skills/Equipment

  • Good to excellent computer skills a must
  • Knowledge of Excel required
  • Knowledge of Springer Miller POS helpful
  • Able to work under high-pressure situations, use good judgment, and meet deadlines
  • Detail-oriented
  • Fluent in multiple languages helpful
  • Cash handling and basic accounting skills preferred
  • Friendly, warm and enthusiastic personality
  • Previous front desk, reservations, concierge, bell desk or night audit experience in a luxury property preferred
  • Ability to work under minimal supervision, often-times as the sole front desk person.

Essential Physical Requirements

  • Ability to work a flexible schedule
  • Ability to stand and walk for full length of the shift, up to 12 hours at one time
  • Able to perform various activities such as constant standing, walking, frequent bending, reaching, kneeling, and squatting
  • Routinely handles objects weighing up to 15 lbs and on occasion may be expected to lift objects weighing up to 50 lbs
