Butterfly Staffing is supporting a growing service provider in the lifting equipment space seeking a hands-on Crane Technician. This is a great opportunity for someone with strong electrical and mechanical troubleshooting experience who is open to learning crane systems. Direct crane experience is a plus, but not required. The company will train the right person.
Responsibilities
- Perform maintenance, inspections, and troubleshooting on various crane types
(Overhead, Tower, Port, Pick & Carry) - Diagnose and repair electrical and mechanical issues
- Read and interpret electrical and mechanical schematics
- Replace or repair components as needed to keep equipment operational
- Work safely at heights (20+ feet)
- Document service and maintenance work performed
- Communicate effectively with team and customers in the field
Schedule & Work Environment
- Standard schedule is Monday–Friday, 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM
- This role requires 24/7 on-call availability for service needs
- Technicians may be called out for evening, overnight, or weekend repairs as needed
- Opportunity for overtime (up to ~15–20 hours/week depending on workload)
- Example: occasional weekend service calls (e.g., ~4 hours on a Saturday)
Equipment & Travel
- Company vehicle/truck provided for certain roles or assignments
- Per diem offered for travel assignments, where applicable
- Overtime available and paid for after-hours and call-out work
Qualifications
- 2–5 years of experience in industrial electrical and/or mechanical troubleshooting
- Ability to read electrical diagrams and mechanical drawings
- Comfortable working at heights
- Valid driver's license
- Strong work ethic, reliability, and integrity
- Team-oriented with good communication skills
Nice to Have (Not Required)
- Experience working on cranes or lifting equipment
- Background in industrial maintenance, heavy equipment, or field service
- Familiarity with hydraulics, motors, controls, or VFDs
