Soldering Technician
Location: Leander, TX
Schedule: Monday – Friday, 7:00 AM – 4:00 PM
Pay: $18.00 – $21.00/hour (depending on experience)
Job Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented Soldering Technician to support production operations for a robotics manufacturing environment. This role involves assembling, wiring, and soldering components ranging from simple to complex builds with minimal supervision. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with soldering techniques and cable assembly, along with a strong focus on quality and precision.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform soldering tasks, including cup soldering, lap soldering, and connector-to-wire soldering
- Assemble cables, wire harnesses, and electro-mechanical components
- Cut, strip, and crimp wires using appropriate tools and techniques
- Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings
- Inspect solder joints and assemblies to ensure quality and accuracy standards are met
- Use hand tools, measuring equipment, and heat shrink as required
- Maintain accurate production records and follow work instructions
- Ensure a clean, organized, and safe work environment
- Collaborate with team members to meet production goals and deadlines
- Participate in process improvements and follow all safety and quality procedures
Basic Skills & Qualifications
- Experience with soldering (cup soldering preferred)
- Knowledge of small gauge crimping, wire cutting, and stripping
- Ability to read and understand technical drawings and specifications
- Strong attention to detail and manual dexterity
- Basic computer and documentation skills
- Good communication skills and ability to work in a team environment
- High school diploma or GED required
Preferred Qualifications
- 2+ years of experience in electro-mechanical or cable assembly
- Experience with PCBA soldering, heat shrink, and panel/box builds
- Familiarity with production or manufacturing environments
Work Environment & Physical Requirements
- Ability to sit for extended periods while performing detailed soldering work
- Frequent use of hands for fine motor tasks and repetitive motions
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs when required
- Comfortable working in a manufacturing/warehouse environment
- Must be able to wear required PPE
Additional Requirements
- Must be able to pass a drug test and background check
- Strong work ethic, reliability, and punctual attendance required
- Ability to work overtime if needed
