We are a growing Primary Care Physician (PCP) office committed to providing high-quality patient care. We are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Medical Biller / Referral & Authorization Specialist to join our team.

Job Responsibilities

• Submit and follow up on insurance referrals for specialist visits
  
  
• Process prior authorizations for imaging studies (CT, MRI, Ultrasound, etc.)
  
  
• Verify patient insurance eligibility and benefits
  
  
• Work with insurance companies to obtain approvals
  
  
• Coordinate with providers and staff regarding referral requirements
  
  
• Maintain accurate documentation in the EMR
  
  
• Communicate with patients regarding authorization status
  
  
• Assist with medical billing tasks as needed
  
  

Qualifications

• Experience in medical billing or referral coordination preferred
  
  
• Knowledge of insurance authorization processes
  
  
• Familiarity with PCP office workflows
  
  
• Experience with EMR systems
  
  
• Strong organizational and communication skills
  
  
• Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
  
  

Preferred Experience

• Prior experience with imaging authorizations
  
  
• Understanding of Medicare, Medicaid, and commercial insurance
  
  
• Experience in a primary care office
