Job Description
Job Title: Certified or Registered Medical Assistant
Location: Tulsa, OK
Hours: 8 AM to 5 PM
Pay: $18 per hour
Summary: The Medical Assistant provides essential medical and clinical support to healthcare providers; prioritizing patient needs with minimal supervision. This role involves both clinical and administrative tasks to ensure a smooth patient experience and efficient clinic operations.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Clinical (60%)
Triage patients promptly, documenting vitals and patient history.
Obtain patient signatures on Advanced Beneficiary Notices (ABN) as necessary.
Verify lab specimens and ensure accurate completion of lab requisitions.
Assist providers with examinations and medical procedures.
Generate accurate lab requisitions with proper codes as instructed by providers.
Enter charges for services such as urinalysis and injections.
Administer injections and maintain thorough documentation of procedures.
Perform phlebotomy when required.
Clean and prepare exam rooms and equipment after each patient visit.
Address non-acute clinical issues as they arise.
Assist in training new employees.
Manage lab results and follow up on outstanding results older than two weeks.
Maintain cleanliness of all medical instruments and work areas.
Follow procedures for end-of-day cleaning, stocking, and record-keeping.
Support team members as needed and perform other duties as assigned.
Administrative (30%)
Manage return calls for providers regarding lab results and prescription refills.
Document all patient interactions thoroughly.
Enter lab orders and results into the EMR system promptly.
Provide patients with information regarding lab and test results.
Maintain electronic and physical clinic records for easy access.
Schedule and reschedule patient appointments as necessary.
Adhere to HIPAA and compliance guidelines.
Facilities Management (10%)
Qualifications:
High School Diploma; completion of a Medical Assistant training program or 5 years of relevant experience.
National Registration or Certification as a Medical Assistant REQUIRED
Previous work experience in a medical setting is desirable
OB/GYN experience is a plus
E-Clinical Works experience is a plus
Skills:
Strong communication skills to interact effectively with patients and staff.
Ability to maintain patient confidentiality and handle sensitive information.
Proficient in basic typing and familiar with medical software systems.
Capable of managing multiple tasks simultaneously, particularly during peak periods.

* Prepare treatment rooms for patient examinations, keeping the rooms neat and clean.
* Inventory and order medical, lab, or office supplies or equipment.
* Schedule appointments for patients.
* Authorize drug refills and provide prescription information to pharmacies.
* Prepare and administer medications as directed by a physician.
