Dermatology Medical Assistant/LVN

Welcome to Basin Dermatology, a leader in medical and cosmetic dermatology services in Midland, Texas.  Basin Dermatology is looking for a experienced Dermatology Medical Assistant or LVN to be the first face that our wonderful dermatology patients see when they walk in our friendly office!
 Work Environment:

• Fast-paced, often seeing many patients daily.
• Mix of medical dermatology (disease treatment) and cosmetic dermatology (aesthetic procedures).
• Requires attention to detail and comfort with minor surgical procedures.

Schedule:8am-5pm Monday-Thursday, 8am-12pm Friday

• Rooming patients: Taking vital signs and documenting medical history (skin concerns, medications, allergies).
• Assisting with skin exams: Helping the provider during full-body checks for conditions like acne, eczema, or suspicious moles.
• Procedure assistance:
  • Biopsies
  • Cryotherapy (freezing lesions/warts)
  • Excision of cysts or skin cancers
• Preparing instruments and sterile trays for procedures.
• Wound care: Cleaning, dressing, and giving aftercare instructions.
• Administering medications (depending on certification/state law), such as topical treatments or injections.
• Photographing skin conditions for documentation and tracking progress.
• Explaining treatment plans and medication use.
• Teaching proper wound care after procedures.
• Advising on sun protection and skin health.
• Updating electronic medical records (EMR).
• Scheduling appointments and follow-ups.
• Handling insurance authorizations for procedures or medications.
• Answering patient questions via phone or patient portals.
• Managing inventory of medical and skincare supplies.
• Assisting with cosmetic procedures like chemical peels, laser treatments, or Botox (varies by office and certification).
• Educating patients on skincare routines and products.
• Helping manage chronic conditions like acne, psoriasis, and rosacea.

Required SkillsDermatology Medical Assistant or LVN Qualifications

• One (1)+year experience in a medical setting, preferred
• MUST HAVE the social skills to interact with patients 
• MUST get along with others in the work place
• MUST be able to work on your feet for 8 hours
• MUST be motivated with an outgoing personality 
• Bilingual, perferred
