About the Role:

As a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) at Phoenix Indian Medical Center, you will play a vital role in delivering compassionate and culturally sensitive care to patients within a diverse healthcare environment. Your primary focus will be to support nursing staff by providing direct patient care at Phoenix Indian Medical Center's clinics ensuring patient comfort and safety. You will be responsible for monitoring patients' conditions, reporting changes to the nursing team, and maintaining accurate documentation. This role requires collaboration with interdisciplinary teams to promote holistic health and well-being for patients. Ultimately, your contributions will enhance patient outcomes and support the mission of providing high-quality healthcare services to the Native American community.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Current and valid Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
  • Ability to pass a background check and drug screening as required by the facility.
  • Demonstrated ability to provide compassionate patient care in a healthcare setting.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience working in a hospital or clinical environment, preferably with Native American populations.
  • Familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) systems.
  • Additional certifications such as CPR or First Aid.
  • Strong understanding of cultural sensitivity and patient-centered care principles.
  • Bilingual skills, especially in languages commonly spoken by the patient population served.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist patients with activities of daily living including bathing, dressing, grooming, and feeding.
  • Monitor and record vital signs such as temperature, pulse, respiration, and blood pressure.
  • Provide support during patient mobility, transfers, and positioning to prevent injury and promote comfort.
  • Observe and report any changes in patients’ physical or emotional condition to nursing staff promptly.
  • Maintain cleanliness and safety of patient rooms and medical equipment in accordance with infection control protocols.
  • Support nursing staff with routine clinical tasks and documentation to ensure continuity of care.
  • Communicate effectively and respectfully with patients, families, and healthcare team members to foster a supportive environment.
