Qualifications/Educational Requirements for Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA)

1. Certification and Licensing:
   
   
   • Must provide an original, current, valid State of Florida license, or
   • Provide appropriate documentation as required by the state in which they are practicing, meeting the minimum qualifications.
2. Experience:
   
   
   • Minimum of three (3) years of full-time experience in direct patient/client care in an institutional setting (hospital or nursing facility), or
   • Three (3) years of full-time experience within the last five (5) years in direct patient/client care in an agency setting.
   • Home health experience preferred.
3. Skills:
   
   
   • Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
   • Good verbal and written communication skills.
4. Additional Requirements:
   
   
   • Valid state drivers license.
   • Reliable automobile with current automobile insurance.
   • Current health certificate/physical examination and TB testing results.
   • Current CPR certification.
