Shipping Receiving Worker- 1st shift

POSITION SUMMARY: Safely and proficiently facilitates the movement of raw material, work in progress, and finished goods into and out of the facility.

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES (includes essential job functions):

• Follows instructions and direction of supervisor and/or lead.
• Maintains safe and orderly work area.
• Proficiently reads and follows work order directions.
• Assists in the staging of components to provide for maximum shipping efficiencies.
• Offloads, verifies receipts against documents and efficiently locates material in facility.
• Pulls from inventory, verifies quantity, packages and prepares product for shipping to insure product arrives at destination safely and intact.
• Accurately documents shipping and procedures to provide for the highest level of safety and productivity.
• Safely follows all rules and regulations for forklift operation.
• Follows all policies and procedures to provide for the highest level of safety and productivity.
• Safely and efficiently loads and secures materials for over the road transport.

EDUCATION: High School Diploma or GED equivalent

EXPERIENCE / SKILLS:

• Must be proficient in the use of measuring tools
• General computer knowledge
• Must be able to multi-task in a fast paced detail oriented production/manufacturing environment
• Good oral and written communication skills
• Must have good organizational skills
• Must be able to work both independently and in a team environment
• Good interplant customer service skills
• Must be self-motivated

PHYSICAL AND MENTAL REQUIREMENTS:

• Must be able to stand in an upright position for continuous periods of time.
• May be required to climb ladders or work in overhead areas.
• Employee is required to walk throughout the facility during the course of the workday.
• Must be able to lift and/or carry up to 75 lbs.
• Must be able to pull and/or push up to 75 lbs. on a regular basis.
• May be required to bend forward at the waist or by bending legs and spine.
