Skilled Operator (Full-time w/benefits)

Primary duties
As a skilled operator, you will be a part of a team that supports the company’s safety and quality initiatives while supporting an injury-free work environment.
- Operate an automated continuous production line and facilitate maximum capacity with minimum downtime.
- Abide by job related procedures, work instruction and other guidelines designed to help ensure the quality of the finished product.
- Make adjustments to the line process to ensure high quality products using HMI (Human Machine Interface)
- Troubleshoot and anticipate problems to correct or prevent interruptions to the line, using powers of observation and hearing, knowledge of formulas and percent mixes of different product, and familiarity/experience with fibers.
- Routinely perform preventative maintenance and replace key parts.
- Work as a team with other operator and lab technicians on each shift while maintaining communication using verbal skills (hand-off meetings), written skills (emails, logs, reports) and body language.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED, Two-year technical degree a plus.
- Two years of experience om a manufacturing or technical field, with experience in continuous manufacturing or in a non-woven textile manufacturing a plus.
- Proficiency in reading, writing and speaking English.
- Education and/or experience with the operation of computers-experience with Excel a plus.
- Two years of experience or equivalent education in fundamentals of mechanics and electricity and ability to operate and fix mechanical and electrical devices on a small scale.
- Ability to lift 50 pounds occasionally, 30 pounds regularly.
- Forklift experience a plus.
Salary
Competitive starting pay that includes shift differentials starting at $2.00/hour and
weekend differentials starting at $2.00/hour.
