Responsibilities
The Continuous Improvement Engineer is responsible for driving operational excellence through the application and facilitation of continuous improvement methodologies. This role utilizes HBS/Lean tools to deliver improvements in throughput, productivity, cost, inventory, and delivery performance. The position plays a critical role in coaching teams, implementing structured problem-solving approaches, and supporting major improvement initiatives across the organization. Travel is required for this position.

Key Responsibilities
  • Supports plant and departmental initiatives using continuous improvement principles, tools, and methods to achieve business goals, improve performance, and reduce costs.
  • Identifies, designs, facilitates, and coaches the implementation of CI methods and techniques, including daily management, structured problem solving, TPM/OEE, 5S, visual management, work design, and A3 improvement plans.
  • Leads and facilitates continuous improvement activities to strengthen operational discipline and drive measurable results.
  • Partners with business unit resources and other plant locations to share best practices, introduce new technologies, and promote alignment on CI strategies.
  • Communicates progress, results, and success stories across the organization to foster engagement and CI adoption.
  • Compiles, analyzes, and reports metrics and performance outcomes related to improvement projects.
  • Supports development of CI capability across the workforce through coaching, training, and hands-on engagement.
  • Performs other duties as needed to advance operational performance and continuous improvement objectives.
Qualifications
Basic Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution
  • Minimum of three years of experience in a continuous improvement role
  • Legally authorized to work in the United States (no visa sponsorship available)
Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Supply Chain, Logistics, or a related technical discipline
  • Demonstrated ability to lead diverse teams and drive major change initiatives
  • Strong understanding of Lean, ABS, or Toyota Production System principles; ability to teach, coach, and mentor others
  • Proven results leading or facilitating CI activities
  • Strong computer skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills; ability to present effectively at all organizational levels
  • CI experience within aerospace, automotive, or defense industries
  • Working knowledge of Hoshin planning, TPM/OEE, 5S, Kaizen, visual factory management, work design, and A3 thinking
