Description\n

American Traveler is hiring a Med/Surg RN for a 13-week travel assignment requiring 1+ year of recent acute med/surg experience and an active TX or compact RN license.

Details\n

\n
• Work on a 16-bed Med/Surg unit with a mix of general med/surg and COVID-positive patients
\n
• Day shift schedule from 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM
\n
• 13-week assignment length
\n
• Maximum patient ratio of 6:1
\n
• Unit staffing typically includes 1 charge nurse, 3-4 RNs, and 1 PCA per shift
\n
• Uses Meditech EMR
\n
• Standard unit equipment used for patient care
\n
• Rotating weekend coverage required, with additional flexibility expected from travel RNs
\n
• Floating to other Med/Surg units as needed
\n

Requirements\n

\n
• Active RN license (TX or Compact)
\n
• BLS certification required
\n
• Minimum 1 year of recent acute Med/Surg experience within the last year required
\n
• 2+ years of Med/Surg experience preferred
\n
• Ortho, neuro-surgery, or Med/Surg/Telemetry background preferred
\n
• Ability to care for 4-6 patients at a time
\n
• Proficient in standard nursing skills including IV insertion, urinary catheter insertion/maintenance, and central line maintenance
\n
• No gaps in work history of 90+ days within the past 12 months
\n
• US Social Security Number and date of birth required for consideration
\n

• Provide direct patient care for Med/Surg patients including medication administration and documentation in the EHR
\n
• Collaborate and communicate with all members of the care team
\n

• Must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility to be eligible for this travel position
